I’m Sara, an Early Years Teacher from Oxford. I was born in Scotland, and have lived in a variety of places in England before settling in Oxford, which has now been my home for over 14 years. I studied Psychology at university, and shortly after completing my degree, I fell into a job working in a Pre-school with 2 to 5 year old children. Naturally, I fell in love with the job, which led me to train as an Early Years Teacher. I am currently working as a Teaching Assistant in a Primary School as I will be heading to UCL in September to start my teacher training Inshallah!

Explaining the name of this blog:

I was once told that I have a calming presence,¬†which at the time I thought was the nicest thing I had heard someone say about me. Since then, I’ve had a few more people mention how calming I am to have around, which I would never have thought of as a trait I had. I must say that I am definitely not as calm on the inside as I may appear on the outside! I guess my experiences have shaped the way I think, act and look, just like everyone else.

Talking about my experiences, I have strong feelings on racism, Islamophobia and feminism, which I may talk about in some posts. I am also very protective of children and would adopt all the vulnerable children in the world if I could! I am a dreamer and want to explore the world, help others, learn more and gain a range of experiences.
